Literature Website for the Classroom or Resource Room

Many thanks to Paul Hamilton from SET BC who presented to VSB Resource Teachers today on Universal Design for Learning, also featuring web-based programs and iPad apps to make learning more accessible, representative, and engaging. This literature one is exciting in that it offers approximately 10 x 60 second video clips on many of our favourite literature choices – Hamlet, Animal Farm, Brave New World, The Crucible, Heart of Darkness, Lord of the Flies, To Kill A Mockingbird, Hamlet, Macbeth, and many more. These brief clips – on plot, theme, symbol, etc – will allow weaker readers to participate in an intelligent manner on the literature being discussed in class.

Not only the classics are available, but also 19 "pages" of 60 second clips on the "Pick of the Week" including recent YA literature such as Veronica’ Roth’s Insurgent, second in the highly popular Divergent trilogy, and Kenneth Oppel’s teenage Frankenstein,This Dark Endeavour, whose sequel has just come out.
